Electrical Breadth


Electrical engineering studies provide a great starting point for electrical engineering practice as well as medicine, business and law, and graduate work in the physical sciences and engineering. The electrical engineering breadth elective focus area aims to provide students with breadth of background necessary to get started on any of these career tracks.

Depending on the courses selected, completion of electrical engineering breadth elective focus area coursework will provide students with additional understanding of topics in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of computer, electronics, power, control and communications systems.

Students with broad background in electrical engineering will find career opportunities both in industry and academia. Examples range from jobs as teaching or research professors, to positions in the telecommunications, power and computing industries, to medical, legal or hard science related positions.
